Gloom and Doom In the Libraryworld

For all the insanity, librarianship is a great career.

Sure, its tough to find a job, and the patrons can be trying, and they cut my staff again, and also the book budget, and all these book challenges keep coming in, and the homeless guy keeps trying to cut his hair with the safety scissors, and I keep finding horrid THINGS in the bookdrop, and now, hey look the homeless guy is chasing the book challenge lady with the stapler, and looks like she’s packing mace, now he’s on the run and…

OH GOD THE SQURRIELS ARE BACK!!!!

IEEEEEE! NOT IN THE FACE, NOT IN THE %^$& #$&JFBFR%^$r

–NO CARRIER

All in a day’s work. At least your coworker isn’t having a conversation with his other personalities at the reference desk.

Have you ever found a dead rabbit? There was one at my old library. This occurred after the library director had the guys’s wife arrested for not returning an inter-library loan book from the state library. Talk about disgruntled patrons . . . .

And you mean the safety scissors aren’t for hair cutting?!

The worst I had to contend with was mopping up after a library flood. Not what you’d expect on the 10 fllor of a building.
