A bit of excitement unexpectedly came to the Marissa Public Library in Illinois as a tractor-trailer semi crashed into the building. The driver said that he had blacked out at the time of the crash. While no one was seriously hurt, the crash was harrowing for patrons, many of whom–including children–escaped out the back. The library was evacuated after cracks were found in the roof. The front of the library was demolished in the accident. The extent of the damage to the collection is not known, nor when the library will reopen.
